Honey as it Should Bee……
We have literally searched the world over for the best tasting honey. Our organic, Fairtrade Certified Amber and Raw Honey are produced on traditional family farms in southern Mexico and in the north eastern Amazon. The beekeepers tend to their hives deep in the dedicated organic agricultural zones in Central and South American rainforests, far from any exposure to GMO's or pollutants. The honeybees forage only on the wild jungle's natural flora. Our honey is 100% free from chemical residues as the plants surrounding the hives have not been sprayed with pesticides, herbicides or antibiotics. The honey is minimally filtered to retain the honey's abundance of natural pollens and enzymes.
Wholesome Sweeteners Organic Raw Honey is straight from the hive. It is minimally filtered and creamed to produce the rich spread consistency. It is very gently heated to allow it to pass through the filter. It is never heated above 110 degrees so it maintains its vital nutritive values. The honeys are only minimally filtered to remove natural organic matter that gets trapped in the honey during harvest.
Raw honey naturally contains catalase enzymes which help the body fight free radicals, and flavanoids which help the body attack allergens, viruses, and carcinogens. It also contains of other vitamins and minerals including small amounts of vitamin B12, vitamin B6, vitamin C, potassium and zinc.
When you purchase Wholesome Sweeteners Organic, Fairtrade Certified Amber and Raw Honey you are getting the best tasting honey and making the world a sweeter place. Fairtrade Certification ensures that a fair price is paid directly to the beekeepers tending the hives; it means they can protect the quality of the hives and jungle areas and build thriving communities. By protecting the hives and forage areas, Fairtrade encourages biodiversity and helps the forests thrive, too!

Fig, Banana & Chocolate Parfaits
Fig and Chocolate Layer
1½ cups dried figs, stemmed and sliced in quarters
2/3 cup raw cocoa nibs
1/4 cup almond butter
1/3 cup Wholesome Sweeteners Fair Trade Organic Raw Honey
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. sea salt
2-3 ripe bananas, mashed
1-2 tbsp. orange zest
2-3 tbsp. Wholesome Sweeteners Fair Trade Organic Raw Honey
2 baskets raspberries
3 tbsp. lemon juice
3 tbsp. Wholesome Sweeteners Fair Trade Organic Raw Honey
1/3 cup sliced, raw almonds
For the fig and chocolate layer, place 1¼ cups figs, cocoa nibs, almond butter, honey , vanilla, cinnamon and sea salt in the work bowl of a food processor. Run for several minutes until it is smooth. (You may need to add a few tablespoons of water to get a smooth texture). Add more water and or honey, to taste, and blend till smooth. Stir in the reserved ¼ cup figs.
For the banana layer, mash the bananas by hand or they will become too liquid. Stir in the orange zest and honey, adjust to taste.
At this point, the two layers can be made up to 4 hours in advance and stored, covered and refrigerated, to be assembled just before serving.
To assemble the parfaits:
Toss 1½ baskets of raspberries with the lemon juice and honey. Use half the fig and chocolate mousse evenly divided in the bottom of 4 tall glasses. Top with half the raspberry lemon mixture. Divide the sliced almonds over the raspberries (this will help create a barrier for the banana layer). Place half the banana layer over the almonds. Repeat the layering with the remaining of each and garnish with the reserved raspberries and additional orange zest, if you like.
Makes 4 parfaits.
